A Creative Year
With the start of a new year, I’ve looked back and realised that my creative output over the last few years hasn’t been nearly as good, or even as prolific, as I would have liked it to be. I could, and should, have created more.
So, to help prevent another year of not much creativity, my New Year’s resolution for 2015 is to be more creative. To accomplish this, I have decided to set myself a challenge for the year. For the next twelve months, my plan is to create something new every day. Each mini project will utilise one of the many artistic mediums I am interested in, which could mean writing a piece of music, taking a photograph, designing a poster, writing a short story or poem, producing a piece of film, painting a picture, building something in Minecraft or out of LEGO, making a sculpture, or even experimenting in some other medium that I’ve never worked in before.
All of these mini projects will be in addition to both my professional work and my larger personal projects, which means that for this particular challenge I won’t be producing anything on the scale of a novel, feature film or opera.
I accept that, due to other work commitments, I may not be able to produce something every day, so if I miss a day, I do intend to catch up and created something for the missed days, however I should, if everything goes to plan, end up with 365 completed projects on 31st December 2015.
Now that the introduction is done, it is time to create…
